I never thought that running, crawling and sliding through mud could be so much fun!

I completed the Dirty Girl Mud Run a few weekends ago, but have been waiting to post my recap so that I could show you all the awesome video I compiled! Since this is my first ever blog video, it has taken me a little longer than I thought it would to figure it all out, so that is why I am just recapping the race now. Read to the bottom of this post to watch it!

After traveling a good hour to a part of Florida I never even knew existed, we arrived in Dade City at an awesome location for the Dirty Girl Mud Run!

It was an absolutely gorgeous day, I could not have asked for better weather!

It was chilly in the morning, but by the time I joined my wave at 10am, it was starting to warm up and when we got to our first mud pit, I was excited to get wet… I mean muddy! Hey, it’s a natural coolant and sunscreen!

I was so nervous at first to run my first obstacle race, and by myself at that!

But I actually met an awesome teammate and we ended up helping each other throughout the race.

I love that my first obstacle race was all women. All the teams were dressed up in cute matching outfits, bright pink and some even wore tutus. It made for a wonderfully fun atmosphere. And since I wasn’t sure what to expect, I wasn’t as intimidated competing in this race as opposed to a Tough Mudder or Spartan Race. The atmosphere at this race was to have fun more than to seriously kick your butt and compete for best time.

Not only was I a little hesitant about completing the obstacles, but I was not sure how the mud part was going to go down. It ended up being awesome all the way around – mud and all! This is the type of event that I would love to compete in with a group of friends. It is so much fun to go on the journey with someone, helping each other over walls and throwing mud at each other! In this race, you compete more for being the muddiest finisher more than finishing in first place!

After the race, there was a cleaning station where I washed up and changed into an awesome Dirty Girl T-shirt and enjoyed the complementary ice cold beer, which made it all worth it!

I am already looking forward to my next obstacle race!

My mom came with me and took some awesome video clips of the event. She was such a great sport running around at all of the obstacles to film them. I love having her at my races, she’s the best cheerleader!

You can view the 2 minute video I created of the event below:

Please let me know what you think! And if you like it, leave a comment on YouTube and subscribe to my channel! Now that I got the hang of creating a video, I am hoping to post more!

Thanks for reading! And comment below if you have ever participated in a mud obstacle race and which one it was! I’m looking for my next one, now!

Updated Note on 11/20/20: I couldn’t find any details about this event running anymore, unfortunately cause it was so much fun!
