October, you were a lot. In the best way, of course. I’ve got a little beauty, a little fashion, a good book, and some Halloween fun to cover this month. Let’s get into this Fab Five Friday!
1. Colorescience Face Shield Flex SPF 50

Okay, this SPF is so good. The Colorescience Face Shield Flex SPF 50 goes on to your skin white and the tint adjusts to your skin tone as you blend it in. It gives such a flattering glow and I love how well it blends with my skin. Watching the color change is pretty satisfying, too. There is a Black Friday event going on currently, too, so you can snag this product at 25% off right now!
2. Dr. Scholl’s Time Off Sneakers

As I was packing for my recent Mediterranean Cruise, I realized that I was planning to pack about 6 or 7 pairs of shoes to match all my outfits. Which seemed bonkers to me. So I decided to invest in a good pair of walking shoes in a neutral color that will go with everything. And these Dr. Scholl’s Time Off sneakers did NOT disappoint. So worth the cost. I didn’t have time to break them in before the trip, which could have been a terrible mistake, but amazingly, I wore them every single day and didn’t get one blister!
Finding shoes that look cute with anything—including dresses—and are actually comfortable can feel like asking a lot, but these checked both boxes. If you’re travelling and putting together your wardrobe, these are worth every penny.
3. A Lightweight Cropped Bomber Jacket for Traveling

I wanted something lightweight for our trip that still looked cute (not like a typical rain jacket), and this cropped jacket from Amazon ended up being such a good find. It was affordable, super comfortable, and served as my rain layer on the trip. I liked that it had a trendier look while still being practical and lightweight for the weather we encountered. Definitely a happy little Amazon discovery.
4. Circe by Madeline Miller

You know when a book has been sitting on your to-read list, and then it becomes available at exactly the right time? That was Circe for me. I loved getting to hear the story of the Odyssey from Circe’s perspective. There’s something so interesting about revisiting a familiar story through the eyes of someone whose side you haven’t really heard. Especially right after seeing the movie in the theater. If you enjoy mythology—or the idea of seeing a familiar character in a completely different light—add this one to your list.
5. Halloween With Our Crew

And of course, October’s Fab Five wouldn’t be complete without a little Halloween. Everyone’s costumes came out amazing and it was super fun having friends over to celebrate.
If you’re already collecting inspiration for next year, I updated our family Halloween costume ideas with our costumes from last year. Never too early to start planning!
And that’s October’s Fab Five Friday! A little glow, happy feet, a good book, and memories worth keeping.
What was your favorite find this month? And what have you read lately that I need to add to my list?
