I hope everyone had a wonderful three day weekend. We had such a great time with family and enjoyed the long weekend at the Marriott World Center here in Orlando. My brother and his girlfriend came up to stay with us as well, which was pretty much the best part.

The hotel was so busy. We found out that it’s the largest Marriott hotel in the world! There’s a huge conference center there and tons of groups were checking in on Monday and staying all through the weekend.

We spent the entire weekend by the pool. They recently added a water park section with a lazy river and three large slides.

The additional water park area was really nice. It was a little ironic because Reece, my little dare devil, wanted to go on all slides but was too short, and there was no size slide in between for him to ride. Meanwhile Rylee was on the safer side and wasn’t really into them at all. One more year and Reece will be all up on those rides!

The food and drinks at the resort was so good, too!I Even the pineapple mojitos! I was actually surprised at how good the pool bar was,

For dinner on the first night we went to the Italian restaurant, Siro, and it was so good! I got the Snapper with risotto and it was delicious.

On Sunday, my parents got the family a poolside cabana, and it was definitely the highlight, since we don’t normally splurge like that. The pool was so crowded, we actually couldn’t find any seats on the first day, so this was a great perk. And with the kids, the shade and fan was so nice to get them out of the sun when they needed a break so we didn’t have to go up to the room There was also a TV for them and we let them hang there for a while all to themselves while the adults enjoyed the pool.
I couldn’t believe we didn’t snap more pictures of us all in it, but I think that means we were really living it up and enjoying the moment.

The cabana was right right near a ledge in the pool and that was also so nice for lounging close by.

It really made it easy to hang out by the pool all day.

That afternoon, a terrible storm rolled in. I thought it was going to be one of those that would blow over in an hour, but I was so wrong! It sent us up to the room with terrified kiddies because of the thunder. And as we watched the wind and rain pick up from our room, hail started pounding against the glass doors!

I have to say it was pretty fun to watch! We hung in the room watching a movie until it passed.

It cleared just in time for us to watch the fireworks. And because we had the cabana reserved till 9pm, we ordered dinner and watched the show from there.

The next day we tried to get aws much out of thee resort as we could until we had to check out.

Before we left, Brett, Reece and I cashed in our free bag of golf balls from the resort fee and head to the driving range. It was so close, we could walk there from the pool! We grabbed some chairs in a great spot this time, and head to the range to hit a few. It was a really nice perk and a gorgeous course. And a nice way to get some physical activity in.

There was also a fun grassy area which gave the kids something active to do, that wasn’t swimming. It was loaded with life size checkers and connect four, plus ping pong and cornhole.

Memorial Day weekend is always such a busy holiday for a staycation, but I am really starting to like this family tradition! Just like our trip last year to the Gaylord Palms. And any excuse for my brother and his girlfriend to come up is totally worth it!
