This Halloween weekend was packed with family time and spent mostly outside, enjoying the beautiful and cool weather here in Florida.

Saturday

It kicked off at the soccer fields for two very intense soccer games for the kids. They were later games which would typically be brutally hot, but it was perfect weather and made it nice to be outside. It was Rylee’s last game and we handed out medals and cupcakes after the game.

I always get the best pictures of Reece’s games, and then never take any of Rylee’s team! Her team is in an older league and the games get so intense now, we are usually at the edges of our seats watching them.

After the games, my parents came over and we finally carved our pumpkins that we got from the pumpkin patch. This time of year is perfect for spending time on our patio, that we recently upgraded so hanging out there carving while the guys watched college football was so enjoyable.

I always like to theme my pumpkin after something relevant from that year, and this year I was completely obsessed with Handmaid’s Tale. I love how it came out! The rest of them also turned out so amazing, too!

And we kept our seeds for our delicious, and addicting, roasted pumpkin seed recipe that we snacked on the whole weekend long.

That evening, we took a ride in the golf cart through a fun, haunted golf cart path that was all decorated and lit up for the holiday. When we rode through Downtown Winter Garden to pick up our pizza for dinner, it was hopping with all kinds of holiday activities. I love our town!

Then it was a little Halloween movie and bed time before the big day.

Sunday

Sunday morning was started with a family breakfast of homemade biscuits and gravy. Reece and I colored some Thanksgiving / Fall coloring pages while Rylee played with the neighborhood kids. We did some last minute Halloween decorations and Sunday Football watching before getting ready for trick or treating.

Both of the kids wanted to be dragons this year, and were very specific about it. Rylee wanted to be a blue dragon, and Reece wanted to be a silver dragon. We got this perfect costume at Target which was already blue for Ry, but we had to do some clever alterations to Reece’s costume. I found this fabric color spray on Amazon and Reece and I worked on it together. He was happy with it, and so was I. And my mom thankfully helped alter the costume to make it fit him because it was way too big.

Brett and I are huge Game of Thrones fans, so we of course had to capitalize on this opportunity to dress up as some of our favorite characters. Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, aka the Mother of Dragons.

The kids loved going around with the neighborhood gang, and we always end up at our neighbor’s house for the big finale. She has a party in her yard complete with a full bar, appetizers, movie screen and fire pit. It was a blast, as always.

Halloween on a school night is never fun, so it was quite an interesting morning when we all woke up late. I had to bribe the kids with candy to get ready for school.

But our treat bowls are stocked now until next Halloween! Such a fun weekend!
