Fab Five Friday #79

Happy Fab Five Friday and happy Valentine’s Day! I hope your week is going fantastic and you have some fun plans tonight. Valentine’s day is a great opportunity to start organizing routine date nights with your significant other, especially when you have kids, that 1:1 time is so important. And even with your gals, getting together on a routine basis is just great for the soul! So whatever your plans are tonight and this weekend, I hope you enjoy this Fab Five Friday post. Let’s get into it!

1. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

Ok, this book has got me hooked! It was incredible. I was a little bit skeptical about the first book and this type of fantasy genre, but I am 100% on board now. After I finished A Court of Thorns and Roses, I found myself thinking about it often, wondering what was going to happen. So I got the second book from my library and it was so good. Definitely getting book 3 next!

2. A Sea of Unspoken Things by Adrienne Young

Adrienne Young is one of my favorite authors and I will read anything and everything she puts out. She is an amazing writer and I enjoyed this book very much. However, I rated it a 3 out of 5, only because I’ve read her other books and they are just soooo good. She took a stab at a mystery/thriller, and while I enjoyed the writing, it was very slow to start and just fell flat for me. It was a short book though and I got through it in a few days.

3. Go for the Ice Cream

We celebrated my co-worker’s birthday in the office and surprised her with a very special gift. Maggie is the heart and soul of our company culture and is always so giving and thoughtful. She’s lived by the mantra “Go for the Ice Cream” and on her special day, she was presented with a website, gofortheicecream.org, and paperwork for a non-profit. With this gift, she’s about to start her legacy of giving and I couldn’t be more proud! She’s such an amazing human and deserves to be highlighted.

4. Reece’s Birthday

Reece’s birthday celebration was last week, and I just can’t believe he’s 9! We had a blast going around town with his first friend, Ava. First stopping at Dave & Buster’s for games, then Hooters for lunch (he likes the wings!), and a round of mini golf at Pirate’s Cove. It was great! And you gotta check out his interview this year if you want a few laughs.

5. Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros

And it seems as though this is a very book heavy Fab Five Friday, but I’ve just been on a roll with reading! Now that I have finished A Court of Mist and Fury, Onyx Storm is available at my library and I have to jump on it, since it’s in high demand. So I’ll be starting this one today and over the weekend. I hope its as good as the hype!

And that’s it for this week’s Fab Five Friday! We are looking forward to heading out to see my brother for the long weekend, and we are really looking forward to it. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and let me know what you’re looking forward to.
