Happy chilly Fab Five Friday! Have you seen the snow in Northern Florida? I feel like it should be snowing here, it’s so rainy and cold. We are all over this 7 day free trial of living in Alaska. Moving on, this week we are preparing for the 11th Annual Chili Cookoff to Cure, and the weather looks to be shaping up for the event. 62 degrees and sunny. I will take it! For now, it’s been a great week (besides this pesky weather) and I’ve got lots of fun things to share this Fab Five Friday! Let’s get into it.
1. Volunteering with US Hunger on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

On Monday, Rylee and I went to the Orange County Convention Center to volunteer with US Hunger to help package 1 million meals for families in need, both locally and those affected by the California wildfires. I was overwhelmed with the number of people there helping out and it was a really great experience. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for volunteer hours or to service the community and will be looking out for more events in the future.
2. Schisandra Extract Powder

I was listening to a podcast with Dr. Stacy Sims, an exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist focusing on female athlete performance and she mentioned Schisandra, which is a stimulating adaptogen. She said she has it in her coffee every morning and raved about the benefits. Another adaptogen which you’ve probably heard about is Ashwagandha, which is a calming adaptogen. I started using this in my coffee every morning, and it’s reduced the amount of coffee I’ve been consuming while still providing me with the energy to get through my day, even with a 5am workout in. No crashing and no cravings for a 3pm caffeine break. So I am hooked!
3. Sassy Saints Nail Kit

Ok, if you’ve been following my blog for a bit, you know that I’ve tried all types of nail products on the market from Colorstreet to Olive & June, but I am always on the hunt for the next best thing. Something I can do in the comfort of my home, in my own time, and for a quarter of the price of going to the salon. I recently got served an ad for Sassy Saints on Instagram (yes the algorithm got me!). But I am so thrilled with the results. This was my manicure after my first time doing it, so I am sure it will get better with time, and I am in love with the color and results. I’m several days in on the manicure and no signs of chipping yet. I really am loving it and can’t wait to try more colors!
4. Mid-week Movie Night

Working out in the mornings now has been so amazing! It allows me to take time after work to do things I dont usually get to do. I took total advantage of it this week with an impromptu movie night with my mom to see Marked Men. I’ve been getting served the ads for this movie coming out because I love Chase Stokes from Outer Banks and didn’t realize it was only a limited showing! It was a Fathom Entertainment event, which I had never heard of. Only in theaters for 2 nights! I am so glad we made it because it was really good!

5. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

I am so excited for this year of reading! I’ve got my list stacked with so many great reads and I can’t wait to dive in! I’m currently trying out the Fantasy genre again with this book, which I know is a long series. It’s interesting, but we shall see if it hooks me. 🙂
Happy Fab Five Friday!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!
