Happy Friday! It’s been a quick week this week. School is in full throttle, with lots of events, homework and activities. It’s been fun! And it’s getting time to start putting out the Halloween decorations. Who has theirs out already? I give you many kudos for being on top of it! Unfortunately, all of our decorations are still in the attic… and I am terrified of going up there. So, it’s a major procrastination effect happening right now. But on the note of Halloween, I think my number one Fab Five is the perfect segway. (Anyone planning to be Serena for Halloween? Terrifying!)
1. Handmaid’s Tale Season 5
My girlfriends and I recently got together to watch the first two episodes released on Hulu of the Handmaid’s Tale. And it did not disappoint. If you know anything about me, you will know that I get extremely invested in books and shows, especially when they have such intense storylines and incredible (female) leads. I already love watching and talking TV shows and books, and this show hooked me from day 1, when I binge-watched all 4 seasons in time to watch the finale.
Season 5 has been incredible (did you watch this past Wednesday?) and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. It’s definitely something to look forward to each week.
2. Happy Planner + Hole Puncher
I used to be obsessed with a physical yearly calendar to help with planning, but I realized that there was no perfect calendar for what I was trying to plan for. With the help of Google calendar that Brett and I share to keep track of the kids’ activities and family events, I started to realize that I don’t really mark those kinds of things down manually in a printed calendar anymore. But what I do like to do is plan the week’s meals, blogging to dos, vacation planning, workout schedule or PTO tasks. Which don’t necessarily fall inline with the pages in a typical calendar. That’s why I love the Happy Planner. I am able to customize the sections by purchasing tabs, reorder pages if I want to, or even print my own printables and punch them with this hole puncher to create my own space for planning everything I need to.

3. Non-alcoholic Beer
Football and beer are kinda synonymous with each other. And with football back, that sometimes means 7-8 hours in front of the TV, rooting for your favorite team (or Fantasy player) and drinking beer. It sounds like a lot, but I have to tell you it’s not hard to lose track of the number of beers you’ve consumed while watching football. And because I love watching and playing Fantasy Football, I can get wrapped into this, especially with a group. I decided to try drinking some non-alcoholic beer this past Sunday, because I do enjoy an ice cold one when the 1:00 games start. What I really loved about it, is that I not only was enjoying the feeling and taste of an ice cold beer while watching football, but I was able to stay focused on the games and players and remember the plays better. And I didn’t get a tired crash towards the end of the day where I was too sluggish to do the things I needed to do to get ready for the week. I also didn’t consume as much, so I wasn’t worried about the extra calories or the hangover and guilt of being too lazy to accomplish needed things. It was great!
4. Fantasy Footballers Podcast
And speaking of football, I have to give a shout out to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast. I have been listening to them for years, and do tribute my one year’s victory to their tips and tricks when it comes to weekly pickups and drops. Not only do they give great advice, but they are so funny and entertaining. It’s three guys, Andy, Jason and Mike and the way the interact with each other is great and so hilarious. I highly recommend them for a great listen and help for your Fantasy team.
5. Honest Vitamin C Serum
It’s worthy of a Fab Five Friday mention when I’ve purchased something for the second time because I missed it in my routine so much. This Honest Vitamin C Serum is a must for me now. The price point is great for an everyday serum and it lasts a really long time. Some Vitamin C serums can be so expensive, and I like to use those more sparingly, the morning after a mask or a nightly peel. But for everyday use, I love this serum. After I ran out, I found myself missing it a lot and feeling like I saw a difference, so I immediately made a priority to purchase it again.
I hope you loved this week’s Fab Five Friday! If you’re looking for more, here’s a link to last week’s and here is the full collection of Fab Five Fridays.
Have a great weekend!
Nice!
