It felt right today that in lieu of my usual Fab Five post on the blog, that I highlight and celebrate the life of our friend Scott, who unexpectedly passed this week.
It’s been on our minds all week and the service with his family and friends takes place today. Scott was such a light in this world, the most friendly person you could meet. He was Rylee’s first soccer coach and she learned from him for seven years. It was his passion. The kids, the game. You could see how much he loved it everytime we hit the fields. He was so great with the kids, and when we won…. well, it was a spectacle to be seen! Scott and his wife, Lisa, are the kind of people that you are just drawn to. Over the course of those years, we became good friends with them both, and love and adore them. It will be a difficult day today, especially for the kids, who loved him so much.
If you are interested to know more about Scott, I’ve linked his obituary here. In lieu of flowers, and to continue Scott’s legacy of generosity to those in need, it was asked to consider a donation to Dave’s House, whose mission is to end homelessness for men and women with serious mental illnesses.
There is also a Gofundme page set up to help Lisa and her two children, Landon and Ava, through this very hard time in their lives.
