Summer vacation with my entire family has come to an end, but it was so amazing to be at the beach for a week. Because of Covid we missed our annual tradition last year—we have been going on this trip for over 20 years!
We got to my parents timeshare in Singer Island, Florida on Saturday right before the 4th of July.
I always call the Marriott Ocean Pointe my second home, it just feels so familiar every time and I took it for granted before Covid hit, we all did, so it was really great to come back.
We spent the first half of the day on the 4th at the beach with the kids. The water was amazing—so clear and calm.
The hotel always has a party for the holiday under the tiki hut with games, music and prizes for the kids. We’ve gone every fourth since the kids were born, so it’s definitely a family tradition and we always try to snag this week.
And the best part about the trip is it’s really close to my hometown in Wellington, so I get to see all my besties from high school! My brother and his girlfriend also live in South Florida so they stay with us for the week, too.
We usually always go out at least one night for dinner and this time we all went out to Dr. Limón for delicious ceviche. My brother’s girlfriend is Peruvian so they picked out all the best dishes to try, it was a serious feast.
Reece absolutely loved the pool and Rylee loved the beach so much she never wanted to leave. It was a really nice mix!
Tropical storm Elsa did bring on some rougher waters though so we couldn’t really go in the ocean for a couple days, but Ry and I watched a ton of surfers come out to ride the waves which was very cool.
Every year my brother and Brett go fishing on the Seahorse and catch fish to cook for dinner. This time they caught 6 snapper and we had the most amazing fish dinner.
For a souvenir, the kids got their hair braided for the first time! They loved it and they came out so good.
I will miss sleeping in with these guys after long days at the pool. It was quite a week and we all really enjoyed it.
