Hi! I’m Jane Erica!
I am a full-time working mother of two with a passion for living an active life. Life is an adventure when you’re raising littles, and I believe it is so important to not only take care of your family, but also yourself. I love finding new and exciting ways to stay active and strive for balance in life. At home, work and at the gym, I believe balance is the true key to living a happy life.
Here on the blog, I love sharing my thoughts on motherhood (the joys and challenges) all with a laugh and a positive attitude, motivation and inspiration on living a healthy lifestyle, all while indulging in all the things, trying new workouts and taking it easy—because it’s all a balancing act.
So if you’re in a constant struggle with yourself on how to do it all and feel like your living your best and happiest life, then join me on this crazy, fast-paced ride, because we are in this together.
More About Me
I married my college sweetheart and best friend, Brett, in 2011 and we stayed in Central Florida, bought a house and have been raising two little rug rats since then.
I started blogging for fun on and off several years ago, my previous blog was called My Squeaky Sneakers, as some of you may remember. After having children, blogging took a back seat as I navigated through my new way of life, and after losing everything I had worked on (more on this here) I was devastated. I’ve always had a passion for writing, and blogging gave me the creative outlet to do so. Now that my children are no longer infants and don’t depend on me 100%, I’ve built up the courage to start anew, and step back into the world of blogging that I loved and missed so much.
My Fitness Journey
Fitness has always been a huge part of my life ever since I was very young. I started playing soccer and then transitioned into dance which became a huge passion of mine. I quit soccer completely, even after winning a national championship title with my team and dance became my world. Dance of all styles became a part of my identity and who I was all throughout high school where I did everything I could that involved dancing—I joined the dance team, signed up for school fashion shows and auditioned for school musicals. It definitely shaped a lot of who I am today.
Into college I continued to dance, but became even more interested in working out at the gym, finding all kinds of ways to keep the routine interesting and exciting by taking group exercise classes, running and weight training. It became my new passion even into today. And when I discovered the love of training and competing, I found a whole new passion and love for working out. I’ve trained and ran in multiple races including two half marathons, a triathlon, fun runs and an obstacle course. And I still dabble in a few dance classes here and there.
