Boy am I glad to see Friday! It’s felt like only 1 week since the last time I posted a Fab Five Friday, and looking back at the calendar, it’s been a whirlwind ever since then. With the start of school and after school activities, and things also picking up at work it’s been crazy. And now it’s like the holidays. (There’s less than 100 days until Christmas folks, so buckle up!) So I thought this week would be a great catch up episode of Fab Five Friday. Let’s get into it!
1. Visit to Uncle Willy’s + WPB
One of the things we’ve been wanting to do as a family with the kids is have my brother, Will, spend some 1:1 time with them now that they are older. So our plan was to bring them down one at a time to stay at his place without a parent. We started with Rylee in August, and I dropped her off and stayed at one of my best friend’s houses who lives close by. It was a great way to catch up with my girlfriends who I haven’t seen in a long time and give Rylee some one-on-one time with Uncle WIlly and Aunt Ari!

2. Gainesville Friends + Celebrations!
The following weekend, the family drove up to Gainesville to celebrate a dear, and long-time friend of ours’ daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. It was such a special time in her life and we were so honored to be a part of it! Rylee and Maddie have been friends since before birth. Ha! We were digging up photos of them when they were about 6 months old and it was so crazy to see how they have grown.

3. Back to School, Back to School…
Then it was back to school time, and in addition to all the school supply lists, meet the teachers, and schedule updates, I had a bit more to oversee with my PTO duties this year (I am serving as the President this year for Reece’s elementary school). There was a PTO membership drive to organize, welcome back breakfasts to assist with, and fundraisers to kick off. It was definitely a whirlwind, but I am really enjoying it so far. It’s a great community with a great group of parents on the board.

In between all that, Rylee was in the middle of learning her first ever Solo routine and Trio that she will be competing this year. So that meant extra rehearsals, weekend coreo sessions, costume research, fundraising for comp season and figuring out the new weekly pick up and drop off schedule. Thank you carpooling! Rylee is also at the age where she has a little sister now, so that is really sweet.

4. Magical Dining Month Triple Date
We managed to fit in a nice triple date in the midst of all the chaos, which is always so revitalizing. It was Magical Dining Month in Orlando and I always forget to take advantage of it (all of the above is probably why!) But one of our local fine dining restaurants was on the list, Market to Table, which made it super easy to get to, so we jumped on the opportunity to dine there.

5. Dad’s 77th
My brother came up for my Dad’s birthday in August, and cooked the most amazing French inspired 5-course menu with wine pairings, and that was such a treat. The kids tried Caviar for the first time with all the accoutrements, absolutely loved it!

6. It’s a Great Day at Cabana Bay!
The next weekend was the annual Jensen’s girls combo birthday parties at Universal’s Cabana Bay, where we stayed for the long Labor Day weekend. It’s always something to look forward to and a fun staycation to add to the books. That weekend was also our first soccer tournament, which we found out about after we booked our stay, and Rylee’s trio rehearsal. Thank goodness it was a staycation and we made it work!

7. Charge On! Go Knights!
I really wanted to go to a UCF game this year and didn’t want to wait to be offered tix, so we decided to grab tickets earlier in the year to make sure we could attend. The rain kinda dampened our plans a little bit as we couldn’t tailgate like we originally planned and the game was delayed, but once it started it was very entertaining and Knight dominated. Looking forward to the game against UNC this weekend!

I loved looking back on my crazy couple of weeks and definitely looking forward to some chill days watching football out by the pool. Thanks for stopping by this Fab Five Friday!
Amazing!
