I hope everyone had a great weekend. The weather was absolutely amazing and we spent the weekend visiting Brett’s parents for Easter in Palm Harbor, which is really close to Dunedin, and where we spent the majority of our time.
When we arrived, we packed a lunch to have a picnic at a playground in Dunedin, right near the marina.
While the kids played at the playground, I went for a quick run down Edgewater drive, which is right on the water. It’s one of my favorite places to run, so whenever we come here I always try to find a little pocket of time to head out. It’s always the perfect distance for a 30 minute run.
When I got back to the playground the family was having lunch by the park.
Afterwards, we walked up into the town of Dunedin for some ice cream. Brett is obsessed with a flavor called smurf, which you can’t find anywhere else. And we also still are not sure what the actual flavor is.
We had planned to go to some of the breweries in town while we were there, but the kids were very tired after the park and wanted to go home, so we headed back for some rest time.
They still didn’t want to go out after their rest, so Brett’s parents took them to their neighborhood pool instead, and Brett and I took the bikes out to the trail to see if we could check out some of the breweries. It was such a nice ride and we got to visit three different breweries and a cute little taco stand in Dunedin.
It was so nice to go out and be able to have some time with Brett!
After dinner, the kids went to bed and were excited for Easter the next day.
Easter Sunday
The kids of course woke up super early, excited to find their Easter baskets and start the egg hunt, both inside and outside the house. And then spent the rest of the morning organizing and comparing each of their 40 eggs.
We had a really nice brunch as a family and then made our way back home to get ready for the week. I always get the best family photos on Easter cause we get dressed up.
Since most everything is closed on Easter, we hung around the house and did some cleaning while the kids played outside once we got home. We started watching Man in the Arena, the documentary about Tom Brady on Disney+ and we got hooked. And I did some grocery shopping.
