This week was a constant reminder for me that it’s so important to go easy on myself. Everyone has one of those weeks, with ups and downs for all kinds of reasons. There is so much to do, and time goes by so fast, it can be overwhelming. And it’s so hard to stop and appreciate what you have sometimes, especially when social media is constantly selling you something or giving you reasons to “want” something you really don’t need.
This week’s Fab Five is all about appreciation. It’s not always about stuff. Although I love shopping and trying new things, sometimes I just need a little positive energy and a moment to slow down and enjoy the precious things I take for granted.
1. Family
My husband, my parents, my brother, in-laws, and especially my kids. I can’t go on enough about how important these relationships are. So let’s keep them healthy. Let’s show our kids the example that being present is so much more meaningful than watching obnoxious and quite honestly disturbing YouTube videos.
They are watching us and they see us on our phones and mobile devices. Let’s cherish the moments we have together, because take it from me, my youngest going into Kindergarten is an eye opener that my baby is growing up—and really fast.
And I can’t stress enough the importance of communication and quality time with our spouses and what that does for our relationship.
2. Home
I know I complain sometimes that I don’t have the biggest house on the block, or the pool of my dreams. But I love this home that we have created for ourselves and our kids. There is always something I want to improve or something bigger and better to buy or upgrade. But this house is ours and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.
Sometimes I need to turn off the phone and appreciate what I have. I mean, if eating pizza on TV trays in the living room on Friday Family Movie Night isn’t Instagram worthy, then what is?
3. Health
Right now, things are scary. The pandemic we thought was behind us seems to be ramping up, and I don’t want anything to do with it.
Let’s stay safe and not take our health for granted. Whatever that means to you, let’s make sure we protect our health, the health of our families, and all those around us, and appreciate what it means to be healthy. To be able to walk, run, lift weights, breath clearly, feel energized, be mentally stable, and so much more.
4. Friends and Supporters like you!
Friends are what makes life so fun! I can’t wait to see my bestie this weekend, it’s been way to long! That is definitely what is fab about this Friday. Shout out Loreyn! I can’t wait to see you and introduce our kids to each other and watch them play!
I’m taking this time to thank all of you for reading this blog post, for rooting me on to keep going, and for liking and sharing. It’s definitely such a wonderful feeling to know that you are joining me and supporting me and clearly it wouldn’t be worth it if it weren’t for you.
5. Pizza
Pizza in my family is so much more then a delicious, cheesy slice of heaven. It’s a tradition we started every Friday night with our family, and something I think we’ll remember and talk about as our kids grow up.
It’s also a fun way to reward ourselves after a long week. We eat healthy, we work hard, and it’s a delicious reward.
So although pizza is definitely fabulous, the important takeaway is the tradition and the happiness it brings in our lives.
Thanks for reading I hope you had a wonderful, and fabulous Friday.

So important to be grateful and mindful of the blessings in our lives. Well said, Jane! And I love the picture of you and the kids.
Rylee holding onto your legs so that she’s not left out…is everything! Lol
